GO BEYOND
ULTRA.
For players who want the world turned all the way up. Built around cinematic visuals, demanding open worlds, ray tracing and high-resolution gaming. Every HOENGAGER AAA build is matched to a specific resolution and image-quality target — not just a component list.
WORLD-CLASS
WORLDS.
From neon metropolises to ancient myths and open-road horizons, these are the kinds of worlds that reward GPU headroom, memory bandwidth and serious cooling. Performance data below is based on our own testing with RTX 5070 Ti-class hardware.
WHAT WE MEASURE IN EACH WORLD.
Each AAA title stresses different parts of the hardware pipeline. These notes summarize our measured results on HOENGAGER test systems and the build that hits a specific visual quality target.
The benchmark for ray tracing intensity.
Cyberpunk 2077 with path tracing and DLSS remains the most demanding visual showcase in gaming. In our own testing, an RTX 5070 Ti with DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction sustains 75–85 FPS at 4K Ultra with ray tracing enabled. The RTX 5070 Ti handles this title comfortably at 4K with High to Very High settings and the latest DLSS features. Path tracing without upscaling is not viable on any current GPU — DLSS is effectively mandatory at this fidelity level.
- 4K Ultra + RT + DLSS Quality: 75–85 avg FPS
- 4K Ultra + RT + DLSS Performance: 100+ avg FPS
- Memory note: 16GB VRAM recommended for 4K RT textures
Cinematic-quality UE5 with heavy VRAM demands.
Black Myth: Wukong uses Unreal Engine 5 with Nanite and Lumen, producing some of the most detailed environments in any AAA title. In our own testing, an RTX 5070 Ti delivers 60–85 FPS at 4K with Cinematic quality and DLSS Quality. The RTX 5060 Ti 16GB reaches approximately 82 FPS at 4K with DLSS 4 multi-frame generation. 16GB VRAM is strongly recommended — 8GB cards see significant texture streaming issues.
- 4K Cinematic + DLSS Quality: 60–85 avg FPS
- 4K Cinematic + DLSS 4 MFG: 82+ avg FPS (5060 Ti 16GB)
- VRAM note: 16GB recommended; 8GB cards struggle at 4K
Open-world rendering remains GPU-bound at 4K.
Red Dead Redemption 2 at 4K Ultra is pure GPU load with no ray tracing to complicate the pipeline. In our own testing, an RTX 5070 Ti clears 100+ FPS at 4K Ultra. The RTX 5070 manages 33.7 FPS at 4K Ultra natively — this title benefits significantly from DLSS Quality mode. An RTX 5080 pushes well past 100 FPS at 2160p.
- 4K Ultra native: 100+ avg FPS (5070 Ti)
- 4K Ultra + DLSS Quality: 120+ avg FPS
- CPU note: X3D cache helps maintain 1% Low during town scenes
Path tracing showcase with real-time reconstruction.
Alan Wake 2 uses the Northlight engine with Mesh Shaders to optimize complex scenes, making it one of the most visually advanced titles available. In our own testing, an RTX 5070 Ti handles 4K with path tracing enabled and DLSS Quality. NVIDIA's RTX Mega Geometry technology has been shown to add 13% to frame rates and reduce VRAM usage by approximately 1GB in this title.
- 4K + Path Tracing + DLSS Quality: playable with 5070 Ti
- VRAM note: Path tracing increases VRAM pressure significantly
- RTX Mega Geometry: +13% FPS, −1GB VRAM in tested scenarios
THE GPU DOES THE HEAVY LIFT. THE CPU KEEPS THE WORLD MOVING.
Pair the right CPU and GPU for the image quality you actually want to use — not a random list of parts. Pick the tier that matches the resolution and settings you play at.
Ryzen 7 7800X3D + RTX 5070
A strong all-around AAA direction for high visual quality, demanding open worlds and high-refresh 1440p gaming.
Ryzen 7 9800X3D + RTX 5070 Ti
More GPU headroom for cinematic settings, ray-traced effects and higher-resolution play where visual fidelity is the priority.
Ryzen 7 9800X3D + RTX 5080
Maximum GPU headroom for path tracing, 4K native and the most demanding visual pipelines in modern AAA gaming.
DETAIL, LIGHTING, DISTANCE — WITHOUT TURNING THE WORLD OFF.
Ultra gaming is a balance of image quality and usable frame rates. The performance story should feel visual, not like a spreadsheet.
